Bonus Prompts: Week 3

Bonus Week Three: Day One

I hope you’ll be finding that once you begin to write, to let your pen move, more words will come. Try not to, for now, double back and read what you’ve written. Just show up for seven, or ten, or fifteen minutes each day. Think of this as being like playing scales for musicians, or practicing plies for dancers. This is daily practice. As writers, we keep our skills alive by tapping into our wild imaginations. These daily prompts are designed to help you keep tapping. It doesn’t matter if you spend a few days scribbling one line over and over again on the page – there will be other days that something wild will appear. And more importantly, this daily habit is a way of letting your creative self know that it is safe. That you will keep the door open and you won’t judge your own words or ideas. Let the detail show up. Let the shadows show up. Let the surprises appear.

Your prompt today:

Write about someone arriving….
