Bonus Prompts: Week 5
Bonus Week Five: Day One
One of the things I want you to notice in this process, is what kind of prompts work best for you. Perhaps it just depends on the day. Perhaps on your mood. But, you might also notice that you work best when you have a bit of a poem or a line of dialogue. Or when there’s a particular image. Try to simply observe your own process here, to develop a sort of ‘toolkit’ of your own prompts to use over the years. This week, we’ll work with images. Each day over the next week, you’ll receive an image in your inbox -look at the image and allow yourself to let it lead you. If nothing comes immediately, begin by describing what you see: “a blue pond in a dry garden. Brown rocks. …” and then asking yourself… what might happen here? Or perhaps, what’s happening just out of frame? Or, who took this picture? Or, what is about to happen?
This week, let the visual image lead you in your writing.
