We’ve explored – or begun to explore – sensory presence in writing in some of our prompts, and sometimes it can be helpful to really focus in on one sense. That leads to a particular focus, or narrow view which can lead to depth. This week, try to really attend to the sense of touch – how does the skin feel? What is the weight of a particular item on the skin like? Is it cool to the touch? What about fabric? Consider all those textures that we encounter and barely notice – the cool of the table, the scratch of the chair, the sticky vinyl, the concrete, the shoes – as well as physical touch, and the feeling of skin on skin.
